His Excellency Muhamed Cengic, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to India, visited Mayo College and interacted with the students. He was accompanied by Mr Indra Shekhar Singh, activist in the field of Agro-ecology, scholar and prominent Talk Show Host for wire.in. Mr Shekhar, also an Old Boy of batch 2008, engaged the Ambassador in a dialogue on a plethora of topics ranging from Culture and History to Literature. HE Cengic and Mr Shekhar celebrated the poetry of a great Bosnian Poet, Mak Dizdar, by reading out pieces from his book: ‘Stone sleepers’.
Gen SH Kulkarni, Director, Mayo College, in his address, mentioned about exploring scope of Student Exchange Programmes with Schools from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Col Bhawani Singh, President, Old Boys’ Society, formally inducted HE Muhamed Cengic, as an honorary member, to the Mayo College Old Boys’ Society by presenting him the badge.
