Leo Puri, Mayoite & School Captain, '79 Batch; to take over as Chairman of JP Morgan - in the first quarter of 2021.
Former Managing Director of UTI Asset Management Company, Leo will be the new Chairman of South and South-East Asia.
He will take over from current chairperson Kalpana Morparia, who will retire in the first quarter of next year. As part of his responsibilities, Puri will cover JP Morgan’s external stakeholders including key clients, regulators, and industry bodies.
Leo was associated with UTI Mutual Fund till September 2018; he later joined Hindustan Unilever and Dr. Reddy’s - as an Independent Director, on their boards.
An alumnus of the prestigious Mayo College, as also Oxford and Cambridge Universities, he has worked in the UK, US and Asia over a career spanning three decades. He has also been a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company and a Managing Director at Warburg Pincus.
