Lt Gen Devendra Sharma {Mayoite; Batch of ’84} takes over as the Chief of Staff of the Indian Army's Western Command, on Tuesday, May 16, ’23.
Lt Gen Sharma is an alumnus of Mayo College, Ajmer & National Defence Academy, Pune and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.
In a remarkable career spanning three decades, he commanded an armoured regiment, brigade, infantry division, and Corps in the Western sector. Honoured with the Sena Medal for Gallantry, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, and UN Force Commander's Commendation, he is now Chief of Staff at Western Command headquarters, leading operational and administrative initiatives.
As the Chief of Staff at the Western Command headquarters, he will be at the forefront of leading and directing numerous operational and administrative initiatives across the expansive Western Zone, showcasing his expertise and strategic acumen.
